Asheville Vacation Recap

So my fiance and I decided to do a quick fall trip to Asheville, NC last weekend and it was amazing! We left early Saturday morning, after we dropped off Hercules at the kennel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a hotel that would allow pets when I booked the trip at the last minute. He clearly wanted to come along too…

Our plan was to do a brewery tour when we got to Asheville, since there are about 16 craft breweries there. So, we signed up for Brew-ed Brewery & History Walking Tour, which I highly recommend. Our tour guide Cliff is a certified Ciserone, so it was very educational on top of the delicious libations we got to try!

First stop was Hi-Wire Brewing. This is one of the newer breweries in Asheville. We tried the bed of nails,  IPA, and their seasonal Ringmaster Red Rye. Although, my favorite was the Lager. It was a great first stop!

We walked over to Green Man Brewery next. This was Cory’s favorite brewery stop. We tried the IPA, ESB and Porter if I’m not mistaken. But his recommendation is the ale.

Our last stop, and my favorite of the three was Wicked Weed Brewing. I was blown away by the atmosphere and the beer itself. My absolute favorite was the Bedeviled. I honestly don’t remember what else we tried because the Bedeviled was so good!! They had a pretzel dispenser in the tasting room, which was awesome, especially after having several beers already.

Of course, we bought pint glasses at each stop and I wish we had bought some growlers at the time also!

We ended our night eating Pizza with some great people we met on the tour! It was a much needed and great first day of our vacation!!
Up next, Day 2 at The Biltmore…
